General requirements for assembling the house kit

Construction

Construction work must be carried out by a construction company holding a “Certificate of the right to install house kits made using SIPwall technology”.

Construction work must be carried out in accordance with applicable legislation, SNiP and the “House kit assembly recommendations from SIPwall”.

Before the house is installed, the foundation and the lower part of the panels must be treated with waterproofing compounds to prevent fungus on the material.

During construction, only the specialized fasteners specified in the design, used to give the house structure rigidity, may be used. During installation, measures must also be taken to protect the fasteners from the weather.

The time between placing the house on site and completing the roof and natural supply and exhaust ventilation must not exceed 7 days (clause 8.6 of SP 31-105-2002 “Design and Construction of Energy-Efficient Single-Family Timber-Frame Houses”, as regards the requirements for protecting the roof and house structures from penetration by rain, meltwater and snow).

The time between placing the house on site and completing the facade must not exceed 15 days (clause 10 of SP 31-105-2002 “Design and Construction of Energy-Efficient Single-Family Timber-Frame Houses”, as regards the requirements for protecting the exterior walls of the house from penetration of atmospheric moisture and air into the structure).

The time between placing the house on site and installing the windows and doors must not exceed 15 days.

The house structures may be left unprotected for no more than 12 days.

If the above requirements are not met, the manufacturing plant bears no warranty obligations.

Use soft slings when installing structures.

After the house is erected, during the first few days, measures must be taken to dry the wooden structures evenly of natural moisture.

The house must have natural supply and exhaust ventilation installed in accordance with the applicable SNiP.

Electrical installation work must be carried out only by qualified installers according to a design prepared in accordance with SNiP.

Prohibited:

  • light open fires in the house or right next to it;
  • install windows and entrance doors without natural supply and exhaust ventilation in the house in accordance with SNiP;
  • alter the house structure without the written consent of the manufacturing plant.

If the above requirements are not met, the manufacturing plant bears no warranty obligations regarding the quality of the wall elements.

Requirements for assembling and installing glued laminated timber structures (GLT)

Assembly and installation of prefabricated GLT may begin only after all metal connections have been tightened and defects arising during transportation, storage and marking of purlin, spacer and similar positions have been eliminated.

Attention! Structures that have, or have acquired during transportation and storage, defects and damage that may not be repaired on the construction site (for example, delamination of glue joints, through cracks, etc.) must not be installed. Installation resumes after receiving a conclusion from the person preparing the design documentation (hereinafter – the designer) on whether the damaged structures can be used, need reinforcement or must be replaced.

During GLT installation, measures must be taken to protect it from the weather. The time between installing the structures and completing the roof should be kept to a minimum wherever possible.

Note – the upper faces of load-bearing GLT must be protected with waterproofing materials.
